About
Nick has been flying all kinds of aircraft for over 30 years. He has always had a particular interest in tailwheel airplanes and aerobatics, and as part of the Blue Sky Aero Flight School, based out of Morris, Illinois (C09) near Chicago.
Nick has flown over 71 different types, 39 of those types being tailwheel and has been offering instruction and checkouts in Pitts, Stearman, KitFox and RVs for many years. |
With regard to RVs in particular, Nick has flown all of the aircraft in the RV series, and currently has an RV-8 with full rear controls (including rudders, brakes, and throttle) that he uses for transition training. Due to the use of an RV-8, Nick's transition training is particularly applicable to the RV-3, RV-4 and the RV-8, but is also applicable to the RV-6, RV-7, RV-9, and RV-14.
Nick enjoys helping get people ready for their first test flight on their newly built RV, as well as helping people get ready to fly their newly purchased pre-owned RV. He is also available to help ferry an RV home after purchase. Instruction is currently given in N348CW, which is a 200 hp, IFR capable, constant speed, fuel injected RV-8. It has both glass and round gauges and Garmin radios and full rear flight controls. |
